The Eldorado Hotel is located one block from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the cultural center of the city, and the location of restaurants, museums, and unique shops. Additional information is available at the Santa Fe visitor information web site, www.santafe.org.
Santa Fe is a popular destination and availability of lodging is limited. It is recommended that hotel reservations be made at an early date. Advance reservations can be cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours prior to the arrival date.
Rooms have been blocked for the conference at the Eldorado Hotel until April 15, 2000, at the discounted rate of $129.00, plus tax, single or double occupancy. After April 15, reservations will be accepted on a space- and rate- available basis. The Accommodations Form is displayed on the hotel web site, www.eldoradohotel.com. To make a reservation, submit the form electronically, fax the form, or call the hotel directly and request the rate for the ACM/ICS 2000 Conference. The hotel will send a confirmation of your reservation.
All participants, including speakers, are requested to register prior to attending the Conference.

The Registration Form and payment must be submitted by April 15, 2000 to receive the discounted pre-registration fee. Registration can be submitted electronically via the secure server or returned by Fax or mail, as indicated on the Registration Form. Payment of the registration fee can be made by American Express, MasterCard, Visa, or by a check drawn on a US bank and made payable to ACM/ICS 2000, ensuring that the fee is in US dollars. Prepaid registration fees will be refunded, less a $50 processing fee, if notification of cancellation is received by the Registration Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org, before April 20, 2000. Cancellations received after April 20 will not be refunded; however, a substitute registrant will be accepted.
Albuquerque International Airport is the major air terminal nearest Santa Fe. Santa Fe is approximately 65 miles (1 hour) north of Albuquerque. Daily shuttle service between the Albuquerque Airport and the Eldorado Hotel is provided by Herrera Coaches Santa Fe Shuttle (1-888-833-2300) and Gray Line Express Shuttle (1-800-256-8991) at the rate of $25 per person, one way. Reservations can be made directly with the transportation company. Reservations are required to guarantee seating and for direct service to the hotel.
If you prefer to drive, major car rental agencies are represented at Albuquerque International Airport. It is recommended that reservations be made in advance.
Directions: From Albuquerque International Airport, take Sunport Boulevard to I-25 North to Santa Fe. Follow I-25 approximately 65 miles to Exit #282, St. Francis Drive. Proceed north on St. Francis Drive approximately 3.5 miles to West Alameda. Turn right and proceed to Sandoval Street. Turn left on Sandoval Street and continue 1 block to San Francisco Street. Turn left on San Francisco Street, the Eldorado hotel will be on the right.
A welcome reception will be held at the Eldorado Hotel on Monday, May 8, 7:30 – 9:00 p.m.
A continental breakfast will be available for registered conference participants and will be served in the lobby adjacent to the conference room prior to the first session each day,
A banquet is planned at the Eldorado Hotel on Wednesday, May 10, 8:00 – 10:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at the cost of $48.00 per person. Please include payment with your registration fee. Payment can be made by American Express, MasterCard, Visa, or by check, drawn on a US bank, payable to ACM/ICS 2000.
Vegetarian and medical dietary requirements will be accommodated if noted on the Registration Form.

On Wednesday afternoon, May 10, an optional guided tour is planned to Bandelier National Monument.
Bandelier has maintained trails through a scenic wilderness and is well known for the extensive Anasazi Indian ruins dating back to 1100 AD. The Anasazi farmed in this valley for more than 400 years and lived in multistoried stone and mud structures or caves carved out of the volcanic cliffs. An easy, self-guided walk of approximately 1 mile offers close-up views of the ancient ruins. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The tour will include a narration of historical and geological features of the area during the drive to Bandelier and a driving tour overview of Los Alamos. The tour will depart from the Eldorado Hotel at 1:00 p.m., returning at 5:00 p.m. The cost is $38.00 per person.
A limited number of reservations are available for the Bandelier tour. Reservations for the tour must include payment and will be accepted on a first-received basis. Prepaid reservations will be refunded if the Conference Registration Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org, receives notification of cancellation in writing before April 20. Cancellations received after April 20 will not be refunded; however, a substitute will be accepted. The tour will require a minimum of six people to be scheduled. If it is necessary for the conference to cancel the tour because of insufficient interest, pre-registered participants will be refunded in full.
If you prefer to explore Santa Fe on your own on Wednesday afternoon, information for self-guided tours will be available at the Conference Registration Desk. Conference staff will be available to answer questions and assist with directions.

United States dollars are the currency used. It is strongly recommended that non-US participants purchase travelers checks in US Dollars, drawn on a US bank, before leaving their home countries or exchange currency at the port-of-entry airport. Limited exchange service is available in Santa Fe.
Outstanding features of the climate are the dry atmosphere, clear days with an abundance of strong sunshine, and cool nights. Normal average daytime temperature for May is 69 F (21C) and 43F (6C) at night.
Santa Fe "style" is one of casual comfort and individuality. Casual business attire is appropriate for the technical sessions. Layered dressing provides the versatility needed for mild days and cool nights. Recommended are a jacket, sweaters, and comfortable shoes for exploring Santa Fe--the "City Different."
