Traveling to Columbia University

Directions to the Columbia University Campus.

Here are general directions to campus:

Directions from the Astor on the Park Hotel:

Astor on the park Hotel is just one mile from Columbia University. The closest bus station is at 3 blocks north of this hotel (between 110th street and Frederick Douglass Blvd). You can take M4 bus (PDF schedule here) to Columbia Campus from there. (Subway is not an option in this case). You can also take a taxi for approximately $5 + tips.

Directions from the Lucerne Hotel:

Subway Station at 79th street is at the same block as Lucerne Hotel. You can take the uptown train (#1) (PDF schedule here) to Columbia University (at 116th st.) from there. You can also take bus M104 (PDF schedule here). It will also take you directly from Broadway/79street to Columbia Univ. You can also take a taxi for approximately $7 + tips.

When travelling from either hotel to to Columbia (Mudd building), allow 15-20 minutes for travel by taxi and 15-25 minutes by subway.

Directions to the conference building within the Columbia Campus

Maps of the Columbia Campus can be found at the URL below. The Conference will be held in Davis Auditorium, on the main floor in the Schapiro Center for Engineering and Physical Sciences Research (Schapiro CEPSR)  (530 West 120th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam). To see the Schapiro CEPSR building click on "Area D" on the map shown at the URL below. The Schapiro CEPSR building will be seen in the upper middle portion of the area D map.
