In order to test the baselined ALOHA performance of WiSeNeT without any congestion control, a network of 12 sources and 1 sink was set up in the topology as shown in Figure 18.

A (Bash) shell script file was created in order to sequentially test the network with 1 sink from 1 to 12 sources from 0.5 packets/second/source to 4 packets/second/source. A key part of the exercise was to return as much information to the user as possible, which included to stdout, to a backup offline log file, and using the --log option on WiSeNeT to produce unique runtime log files for each node. This was necessary as the duration of the test was approximately 16 hours in total, as there were 96 iterations in total and each iteration of the test was run for 10 minutes.

This exercise was repeated several times and exhibited consistent results each time. Figure 19 describes the packet delivery ratio (PDR) of the network for each iteration, and Figure 20 describes the average individual source throughput for each iteration.
