In order to support the concept of modularity, key objects were defined in a separate file that could be imported into any other part of the testbed. This includes global variables and functions, default variables, symbolisation headers, capacities, packet lengths, certain packet variables, logging events and the definition of standardised log files and respective headers. By implementing global variables in this fashion, it allows the user to keep all key testbed variables in a central location for quick reference and to aid consistency.

These variables are not only used in the testbed, but also in the auxiliary functions available as well, including the various test and analysis programs.
